Adidas Metalbone 3.4 is the latest version of the popular power racket, designed for the ambitious padel player seeking maximum power. The racket builds on the strengths of the series from previous years while incorporating a few technological improvements.
Overall, the Metalbone 3.4 features the well-known diamond-shaped head and head-heavy balance, making it ideal for offensive players. It is constructed with a surface made of Adidas' stiffest carbon fibers, ensuring efficient energy transfer and extra bite in your shots. The core has been upgraded with a Low Poly design and EVA Soft Performance foam, which combines comfort with optimal shot response. The extended Power Extra Grip handle and the innovative Power Groove rail in the frame improve stiffness and stability in your strokes.
The racket is used daily by Spanish world star Ale Galán. If you prefer a harder core, you might also consider the Adidas Metalbone HRD 3.4, which is made with Adidas' hardest foam.
Technologies in Adidas Metalbone 3.4
EVA Soft Performance
The racket's core is made of soft EVA foam to provide responsiveness and comfort in your shots. This is the softest of the three foam types Adidas uses in their premium rackets. Adidas rackets with this foam are marked with a black base cap.
Carbon Aluminized 16K
The surface is made of aluminized carbon, ensuring a high level of stiffness and durability for maximum power. This results in a harder output and improved ball touch.
Power Groove
A rail inserted into the racket's frame profile increases structural stiffness and enhances shot power.
Power Extra Grip
The longer handle increases inertia and power in your shots.
Octagonal Structure
Small carbon tubes in the racket are designed in an octagonal format, making the construction of the Metalbone series stiffer than other rackets. The goal is to reward aggressive players who consistently hit the ball well.
Spin Blade
In the Metalbone series, Adidas uses their Spin Blade technology, a textured surface structure that gives you an enhanced sense of control and enables you to generate more spin on the ball.
Smart Holes Curve
A strategic placement of the racket's holes optimizes the sweet spot and grip on the ball.
Structural Reinforcement
The racket's head is reinforced all around to make it even more durable and resistant to the strain and twisting the material is exposed to.
Weight & Balance System
Adidas' innovative weight system with 6 small screws weighing a total of 12 grams allows you to adjust their placement (or remove them) and thereby customize the racket's balance to suit your preferences. When the screws are in place, the racket's weight balance is medium to low, providing more control. If the screws are removed, the racket becomes lighter, and the balance shifts up to 1.5 cm higher, delivering more power.
Low Poly
Low Poly is Adidas' unique polyhedral design of the racket's frame and core, which increases stiffness and power.

3 tips to extend the lifespan of your padel racket
1. Use a frame protector
Fit a frame protector to your racket to minimise damage from contact with the court glass or metal mesh. It is a simple addition that may not look like much, but it can help extend the life of your racket by protecting it from knocks and scratches.
2. Avoid extreme temperatures
Store your racket at a stable room temperature. Over time, both very high and very low temperatures can weaken the foam in the racket core and reduce performance. Avoid leaving your racket in places such as a cold car boot or close to a hot radiator.
3. Protect your racket during transport
Keep your racket in a bag or cover to protect it from scratches, dirt and knocks. This is especially important during transport or storage between matches, as proper storage helps reduce wear and tear.
3 tips to get the most out of your padel racket
1. Choose the right racket for your level and playing style
Choose a racket that matches your level and playing style. New players may benefit from a racket with a softer face and a large sweetspot, while more experienced players often prefer a stiffer construction with more emphasis on precision or power.
2. Replace your overgrip regularly
Replacing your overgrip regularly helps maintain a fresh grip and improves comfort and control. A worn grip can cause the racket to slip in your hand and put extra strain on your wrist and forearm during play.
3. Upgrade your racket when the time is right
Over time, the foam in the racket core loses its elasticity and performance. This means you will no longer get the same response from your shots. If you have been using the same racket for several seasons or notice a drop in its performance, it is a sign that it is time to invest in a new one.
