Babolat Counter Viper 2024 is here! The new Counter Viper, like its predecessors, is focused on giving the patient player the control and precision needed to stand strong in defense and win the point when the opportunity arises.
In the 2024 edition, Babolat has built on the success of the previous seasons of the Counter Viper series. The weight balance is still head-heavy with the idea that it should be easier to create speed in the shot and counterattack the opponent. Babolat describes the main shape of the racket as "hybrid", which places it between a control and an all-round racket. As such, it is the most controlled racket in the Viper series, but compared to many other pure control rackets from other brands, you can expect more power with the Counter Viper.
To give you optimal contact with the ball, the surface is made of 3K carbon fiber and Babolat's 3D Spin technology. Another great feature of the racket is that as the wrist strap wears out, it can be replaced or removed as needed. In addition, the Vibrasorb system helps reduce vibrations in the racket so that your impact arm is put under as little strain as possible.
Compared to Babolat's Vertuo and Veron collections, the Viper rackets are the only ones with a pure carbon surface and 3 different layers of EVA foam in the core. This makes the Viper series the most powerful and precise in the range, but it also places higher demands on consistently hitting the ball well if you want to get the most out of it.

Technologies Applied in the Babolat Counter Viper 2024
Holes Pattern System
Optimized placement and size of the holes based on the specific racket head shape to increase the power transmission and accuracy of the stroke.
X EVA
The core is designed as a sandwich construction of 3 different layers of EVA foam. The two outer layers are stiffer for extra power, while the inner layer is softer to provide more tolerance and comfort in those shots where you take the speed off the ball.
Woven Carbon
The surface is woven from carbon fibres to give you maximum power and precision.
3D Spin
The small textures in the surface combined with a rough finish provide even better control and grip of the ball.
Vibrasorb System
This technology covers a new elastomer material in graphite, which is integrated into the heart of the racket. The technology reduces the vibrations of the stroke and thus the risk of injury.
Smart Buttcap
New concept that allows you to adjust the size of the wrist strap or remove it completely.

3 tips to extend the lifespan of your padel racket
1. Use a frame protector
Fit a frame protector to your racket to minimise damage from contact with the court glass or metal mesh. It is a simple addition that may not look like much, but it can help extend the life of your racket by protecting it from knocks and scratches.
2. Avoid extreme temperatures
Store your racket at a stable room temperature. Over time, both very high and very low temperatures can weaken the foam in the racket core and reduce performance. Avoid leaving your racket in places such as a cold car boot or close to a hot radiator.
3. Protect your racket during transport
Keep your racket in a bag or cover to protect it from scratches, dirt and knocks. This is especially important during transport or storage between matches, as proper storage helps reduce wear and tear.
3 tips to get the most out of your padel racket
1. Choose the right racket for your level and playing style
Choose a racket that matches your level and playing style. New players may benefit from a racket with a softer face and a large sweetspot, while more experienced players often prefer a stiffer construction with more emphasis on precision or power.
2. Replace your overgrip regularly
Replacing your overgrip regularly helps maintain a fresh grip and improves comfort and control. A worn grip can cause the racket to slip in your hand and put extra strain on your wrist and forearm during play.
3. Upgrade your racket when the time is right
Over time, the foam in the racket core loses its elasticity and performance. This means you will no longer get the same response from your shots. If you have been using the same racket for several seasons or notice a drop in its performance, it is a sign that it is time to invest in a new one.
