Technical Viper Soft 3.0 is an extremely exciting addition to Babolat’s 2026 range. The racket is aimed at the offensive player who wants plenty of power while also prioritising comfort and a more arm-friendly feel. With this Soft version, the goal of expanding the Technical series is to offer a more forgiving alternative to the uncompromising and firmer Technical Viper 3.0.

Racket construction

Like the rest of the Technical 3.0 series, the Babolat Technical Viper Soft 3.0 is built on a new mould that enlarges the sweetspot and moves it slightly lower in the racket. This provides improved control at ball contact and makes the racket more playable than previous generations of the Technical Viper. At the same time, the bridge features a new central stabiliser that dampens vibrations and contributes to a more comfortable and arm-friendly feel.

The racket’s weight of 365 grams is combined with a diamond-shaped head and a head-heavy balance, placing the Technical Viper Soft 3.0 firmly in the power segment. The key difference lies in the material choice. The surface is built with a softer carbon, and unlike the Technical Viper 3.0, the racket is constructed without the central carbon plate. This results in a more flexible and shock-absorbing touch, without compromising the power the Technical series is known for.

The rough surface ensures a secure grip on the ball, allowing you to work actively with spin and variation in your game. Overall, the Technical Viper Soft 3.0 is an excellent choice for you if you want an offensive racket with high performance, but in a more comfortable and arm-friendly version.

Comparison within the Technical 3.0 series

Within the Technical 3.0 range, the Viper Soft 3.0 is positioned between the Technical Veron 3.0 and the firmer Technical Viper 3.0. Where the Veron model prioritises flexibility and playability, and the Viper 3.0 features a much stiffer construction, the Viper Soft 3.0 offers a balanced solution with plenty of power combined with increased comfort and tolerance.

3 tips to extend the lifespan of your padel racket

1. Use a frame protector

Fit a frame protector to your racket to minimise damage from contact with the court glass or metal mesh. It is a simple addition that may not look like much, but it can help extend the life of your racket by protecting it from knocks and scratches.

2. Avoid extreme temperatures

Store your racket at a stable room temperature. Over time, both very high and very low temperatures can weaken the foam in the racket core and reduce performance. Avoid leaving your racket in places such as a cold car boot or close to a hot radiator.

3. Protect your racket during transport

Keep your racket in a bag or cover to protect it from scratches, dirt and knocks. This is especially important during transport or storage between matches, as proper storage helps reduce wear and tear.

3 tips to get the most out of your padel racket

1. Choose the right racket for your level and playing style

Choose a racket that matches your level and playing style. New players may benefit from a racket with a softer face and a large sweetspot, while more experienced players often prefer a stiffer construction with more emphasis on precision or power.

2. Replace your overgrip regularly

Replacing your overgrip regularly helps maintain a fresh grip and improves comfort and control. A worn grip can cause the racket to slip in your hand and put extra strain on your wrist and forearm during play.

3. Upgrade your racket when the time is right

Over time, the foam in the racket core loses its elasticity and performance. This means you will no longer get the same response from your shots. If you have been using the same racket for several seasons or notice a drop in its performance, it is a sign that it is time to invest in a new one.
