The RS Prime Pro is the second generation of Simon Vasquez's popular racket. RS has continued the basic playing characteristics of the original version while making it slightly lighter and shifting the weight distribution slightly downwards.

The head shape is somewhere between a teardrop and diamond and the surface is made of 12K aluminized carbon. It is aimed at the experienced offensive player who wants power in their attacking shots, but wants the sweetspot to be placed a little further down the racket than traditional power rackets.

The holes are drilled with RS' "Power Holes" system, where the smallest holes are placed closest to the center, while the holes towards the edge of the frame are slightly larger. The purpose is to give the racket improved stability and to increase the impact area.

Compared to the previous model, the shaft has been extended to make room for the two-handed backhand. The first version of Simon Vasquez' racket was a bestseller, and with the RS Prime Pro racket, which has also been given a design boost, RS is reaching for another bestseller among offensive-minded paddle players.

3 tips to extend the lifespan of your padel racket

1. Use a frame protector

Fit a frame protector to your racket to minimise damage from contact with the court glass or metal mesh. It is a simple addition that may not look like much, but it can help extend the life of your racket by protecting it from knocks and scratches.

2. Avoid extreme temperatures

Store your racket at a stable room temperature. Over time, both very high and very low temperatures can weaken the foam in the racket core and reduce performance. Avoid leaving your racket in places such as a cold car boot or close to a hot radiator.

3. Protect your racket during transport

Keep your racket in a bag or cover to protect it from scratches, dirt and knocks. This is especially important during transport or storage between matches, as proper storage helps reduce wear and tear.

3 tips to get the most out of your padel racket

1. Choose the right racket for your level and playing style

Choose a racket that matches your level and playing style. New players may benefit from a racket with a softer face and a large sweetspot, while more experienced players often prefer a stiffer construction with more emphasis on precision or power.

2. Replace your overgrip regularly

Replacing your overgrip regularly helps maintain a fresh grip and improves comfort and control. A worn grip can cause the racket to slip in your hand and put extra strain on your wrist and forearm during play.

3. Upgrade your racket when the time is right

Over time, the foam in the racket core loses its elasticity and performance. This means you will no longer get the same response from your shots. If you have been using the same racket for several seasons or notice a drop in its performance, it is a sign that it is time to invest in a new one.
