Technologies Applied in Adidas Metalbone CTRL

EVA Soft Performance

The racket's core is made of low density EVA rubber to give you response and high comfort. This is the softest of the three types of foam that Adidas works with in their top rackets. Adidas' rackets produced with this type of rubber is marked with a black cap.

Carbon Aluminized

Adidas operates with 6 different types of fibers, each type having different properties that influence the power and control ratio of the racket. This racket is made with "Carbon Aluminized 2 to 1", which is Adidas' least flexible fiber. This provides the greatest transfer of energy in the stroke and therefore the highest level of power.

Octagonal Structure

The small carbon tubes in the racket are designed in an octagonal format, making the construction of the Metalbone series stiffer than other rackets. The aim is to reward the aggressive player who continuously hits the ball well.

Spin Blade Octagonal

In the Metalbone series, Adidas use their Spin Blade Octagonal technology, which is an octagonal surface structure that enables you to add more spin to the ball.

Smart Holes Curve

A strategic placement of the racket's hole pattern that optimizes sweetspot and grip of the ball.

Structural Reinforcement

The entire racket head has been reinforced to make it even more durable and resistant to the stress and torsion that the material is exposed to.

Weight & Balance System

Adidas' innovative weight & balance system with 6 small screws weighing a total of 12 grams, which you can reposition (or remove) to adjust the balance of the rakcet to perfectly suit your preferences. When the screws are in, the racket's weight balance is medium to low, giving it more control. If you remove the screws, the racket becomes lighter and the balance moves up to 1.5 cm providing additional power.

3 Tips on How to Extend the Lifespan of Your Padel Racket

Use a frame protector

Apply a frame protector to your racket to minimize damage from hits against the glass walls or the fence. This simple addition can significantly extend the lifespan of your racket by protecting it from knocks and scratches.

Avoid extreme temperatures

Store your racket in a room with stable temperatures. Avoid leaving it in a hot car or a cold garage, as extreme temperatures can weaken the materials and affect the racket’s performance over time.

Transport your racket safely

Always keep your racket in a bag or a cover to protect it from scratches, dirt, and knocks. This is especially important when traveling or storing the racket between games, as proper storage reduces wear and tear.

3 Tips on How to Get the Most Out of Your Padel Racket

Choose the right racket for your level and style

Pick a racket that suits your playing level and preferred style of play. Beginners might benefit from a racket with a larger sweetspot, while advanced players often prefer a more precise or powerful racket tailored to their game.

Replace your overgrip regularly

Changing the overgrip frequently keeps your racket feeling fresh and ensures a firm, comfortable grip. Worn-out grips can lead to slipping and strain on your hand during play.

Upgrade your racket when needed

Over time, the foam in the core of the racket loses its performance, resulting in reduced power and control. If you’ve used the same racket for several seasons or notice a drop in performance, consider investing in a new one to maintain your game at its best.
